I learned a very valuable lesson from my father about the importance of taking good care of my teeth. He grew up in the days when most families could not afford to go to the dentist. He always made sure to brush and floss since he knew that was the only way to maintain good teeth. I have to admit that I am very grateful for private dental insurance since I have not been the best about taking care of my teeth. I have been able to avoid many cavities and other problems with my teeth but not as many if I would have heeded my dad’s advice.

My computer needed something to make it run as it used to. I know all sorts of things can contribute to decreases in a computer’s performance but I really am not able to diagnose these myself. Hiring a person to come to my office or bringing the tower in to a repair shop cost me time and money that are not in my office budget so before I resorted to those , I decided to try another way. The website I found about performance issues with computers led me to a program for.dll repair and within just a short time after a scan and repair run, the machine was back to it’s top level of performance.

Well, if it’s good enough for the First Lady then it’s good enough for me! I’m going to start a new vegetable bed in the yard this year. I don’t quite have as much space as the White House garden, though, and I don’t have an army of gardeners to help me and I certainly don’t have huge greenhouses to raise all my seedlings in.So the plan is to do something on a smaller scale, and to have a Square Foot Garden version of the Presidential patch. I can grow all of the same vegetables, but save on water and resources and time and effort. I may even be able to tend my garden in a natty designer outfit, just like Michelle Obama!

Yes, this was a powerhouse year for 80′s hits that really stood the test of time.  Most of the chart toppers released by these artists are still in radio rotation today.  In fact, many of these musicians are still performing and releasing new works.  They were definitely not what one would consider “one-hit wonders”.

Investing in any venture can be risky and beginning stock market investing is no exception. Anyone who has ever created a blog or put together a posterboard presentation for school knows that not all art is yours for the taking. Generally speaking, company logos cannot be used without the permission of the company. There are typefaces that are so recognizably linked to a company that they cannot be used (Coke, Disney, Hershey’s, Budweiser). There are also pieces of art – specifically art produced in the 20th century and later – that is linked to a living, breathing artist who has the legal right to a royalty for every time his or her work is displayed or reproduced.An alternative to this type of art which is called royalty art, is something called public domain art. Public domain art is any artistic piece that can be used freely by any member of the public. Public domain art becomes public domain for several reasons. In some cases, a drawing, sculpture, or painting cannot be linked to a particular artist. Any depiction of “King Tut”, for instance is royalty-free because no one knows exactly who crafted the King Tut statue. This is public domain art.

I attended a health care job fair, and I was impressed at how many great jobs were available. The jobs that interested me most were the ones in radiology. The employees that I spoke to told me what a great career they have, and that the pay and job security are both excellent. I went home and started looking online for local radiology programs. One of the options was to attend online, which was certainly appealing since I still had to work full time while attending college. I secured my spot in a program, and I am graduating in six months. I have already had hints of a job offer once I graduate!
