Good quality wiper blades are so important for driving safely on busy roads today. There are an enormous amount of vehicles that have wiperblades fitted these days. The original idea for a wiperblade was the work of J. H. Apjohn back in the early 1900′s. The ‘swinging arm’ blade was also invented in the same year by an American lady called Mary Anderson. A pump with a fluid reservoir is fitted in the vehicle and is used in conjunction with the wiperblade to clear the windscreen. The problem with using water as the fluid in the pump is that it will freeze in low temperatures and you will be unable to use it until it thaws. The more sophisticated the technology became – wiperblades were added to other parts of the car such as the headlights and to the rear. We now have advances in technology so much so that we now have rain sensitive wiperblades that activate when it rains.
