Three Quick Promotion Tips For Independent Filmmakers

You know that you have a modern-day masterpiece on your hands, but the question is, how do you make sure that the rest of the world gets a chance to see it? Here are three ways that you can promote your independent film:

Put it online. Create a website and put your film, or an excerpt online. Ask viewers for feedback, too, and if any of them have similar films/sites, be sure to watch them and leave some positive feedback in return.

Enter a local film festival. No matter where you live, there is bound to be at least one film festival close by. Not only will you and your film get exposure if you place, but even if you don’t take home an award, your film will still be seen by producers, directors, and others. In other words, guaranteed exposure.

Hold free screenings. This is a great way to gain local exposure for your film, and people love to watch free movies after all.
