In the search for How to get secure hard data drive destruction I found several options but some aren’t fully safe from what I read.
First, I could take my old computer out and burn it. The problem with this is that when some of the components burn, they put out seriously dangerous gasses. Breathing them would be a life threatening experience at the least.
I could try to wipe out the computer electronically but I don’t know that much about computers and know there are more than one way to find information on one, so just because I thought it was clean, does not mean it really is.
The third is that I could smash it into tiny bits, but what then? Throw them into the trash to end up in the local landfill? That is not tooresponsiblee.
So, what should do I do?
